A calm and grounded space to be heard, just as you are.
Hello, I’m Vikki—thank you for visiting my website. I’m a person-centred psychotherapist based in Catterall, near Garstang in Lancashire, and I offer counselling for adults in a calm, nurturing setting that invites reflection, safety, and growth.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, grieving, or simply unsure where to begin, you are welcome just as you are. At Elmroom, I offer a therapeutic relationship rooted in empathy, acceptance, and authenticity—values at the heart of the person-centred approach.
Sessions are available both in person and online, offering you flexibility while maintaining the same sense of care and connection.
Many of the people I work with are navigating a sense of disconnection—perhaps from themselves, from others, or from a sense of meaning in their lives. This can show up as a quiet stuckness, a longing for deeper connection, or the pain of relationships that feel unsafe or have ended.
Whatever your experience, we can explore it together—gently attending to what you’re carrying, what you long for, and what it might mean to move toward something more whole.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Cumbria and I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Alongside my private practice, I also work as a counsellor for a women’s mental health charity, supporting clients as part of a project funded by NHS Talking Therapies.
My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in the person-centred belief that healing emerges through a trusting, empathic relationship. I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where you can explore what matters to you, at your own pace.
I have experience supporting people through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including:
Anxiety and low mood
Low self-esteem and self-criticism
Later life autism spectrum condition and/or ADHD diagnoses
The emotional challenges of parenting
Birth trauma
Bereavement and loss
Addiction and recovery
Chronic health conditions
Domestic abuse
Childhood abuse and/or adversity
Relationship breakdowns and relational distress
I aim to meet each person with warmth, compassion, and genuine interest in their unique experience. Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a safe space where you can feel heard, accepted, and supported.
